Forest M. Touchberry, 31, was found unresponsive in the facility before being rushed to St. Luke’s Hospital, Sacred Heart Campus, where he was pronounced dead at 3:29 p.m. on Thursday, March 13, according to the Lehigh County Coroner’s Office.
An autopsy confirmed the manner of death as suicide, the office said.
Originally from Allentown and most recently living in Philadelphia, Touchberry had been employed as a forklift truck operator for Ryder Logistics since 2021, according to his social media.
Court records show he pleaded guilty to false identification to law enforcement in March 2024, which led to his incarceration. His record includes convictions for robbery – inflict threat of immediate bodily injury, access device fraud, and drug possession in Lehigh, Berks, York, and Schuylkill counties. He had been on probation for multiple offenses, including a DUI at a high rate of alcohol in Northampton County.
His bail was revoked in December 2024, and he remained in custody pending a probation violation hearing scheduled for later this month.
